Male Reproductive System Lab

In this lab you will learn some of the structures of the male reproductive system.

Begin by clicking of the following:

    Male Reproductive System Lateral

You should now see a lateral view of the male reproductive system.

Dissect away the external spermatic fascia left and cremasteric fascia left and locate the following:

    Testes left

    Epididymus left

    Spermatic cords right and left

    Ductus deferens right and left

    Seminal vesicle right

    Prostate

    Glan penis

Observe the penis and locate the coporus cavernosum penis right. This is one of the erectile columns. There are 2 corpora caveronosum that each contain a deep artery. During an erection the deep artery vasodilates and fills the columns with blood. The return route is a vein that is constricted during and erection. The parasympathetic neurotransmitters secrete nitric oxide which acts as a vasodilator.

Use your text to locate the remaining structures in your list.

This concludes the lab.
