Welcome to the new Anatomy and Physiology Online (806-177) page.
I wanted to develop a state-of-the-art online course for anatomy and physiology for some time now and have finally completed it. Moraine Park will be running the course every semester. You can register there.
This course is a baccalaureate level course and is equivalent to the face-to-face version I usually teach on campus. It will transfer to many 4-year colleges. Of course you should always check this out with the college you wish to transfer the course to before taking it.
How to learn anatomy and physiology online:
Check out some of the course features:
Interaction with the instructor via course discussions.
Complete set of interactive powerpoints including links to learning objects and other resources.
Online lab featuring the Visible Human Project--a digitized cadaver that you can dissect.
Online textbook
Podcasts of lectures
I am very excited about the VH Dissector software that features the data from the Visible Human Project. This is not just a series of pictures of a dissection but a set of data that can be manipulated. Structures and systems can be added or removed and the cadaver can be magnified and rotated. I wrote all of the labs for this course that can be loaded into the dissector software. Students follow the labs and complete worksheets for lab credit. It really helps you to learn anatomy and physiology.
This course was presented at the League for Innovations conference in Nashville in November 2007.
