If you have ever wondered about any of the above statements then
you and I have something in common. Many years ago I began a
journey of exploration into the essence of life and healing. My journey
had many twists and turns and led me into such diverse subjects as
life science, astronomy, astrobiology, quantum mechanics,
philosophy, medicine, chemistry, psychology, information theory and
chiropractic.

After many years of study and personal research I began to see reality
in a different way; the way that many scientists and philosophers view
reality. I began to see reality in terms of the flow of information.
Everything we experience at its core consists of relationships. These
relationships are what information is all about.

Information theory presents a new understanding of reality and life...

For example, take any substance like a piece of wood or metal. We
know the substance is made up of molecules and the molecules are
made up of atoms bonded together. If we look deeper we see that
the atoms are made of particles such as protons, neutrons and
electrons. Even deeper we see that the particles are made of quarks.
String theory conjectures that quarks are made of simpler entities
called strings. These strings may in fact be a complex series of
relationships. Strings consist of information.

Reality is a network of relationships.

So how does this relate to healing?

Healing is essentially the same process as living.  

What separates the living from the non-living is that living beings
capture information from their environment. You see all non-living
physical matter degenerates over time. This is a fundamental law of
our universe called the second law of thermodynamics. Physical
matter becomes less organized over time.

Life captures information from the environment.

Living beings do the opposite. They become more organized over
time; at least as long as they are alive. We evolved from simpler life
forms. Life evolved on our planet from simple bacterium and
one-celled systems to the complex systems such as ourselves we see
today.

How can life become more complex over time while all physical
matter becomes more disorganized? The answer lies in the idea that
life captures information from the environment in order to temporarily
overcome the second law. Only information can reverse the second
law and life does a fantastic job of capturing information.

Life = Organization   Disease = Disorganization

Disease is a process of disorganization. Think of how cancer cells
spread disorganization throughout the body. Cancerous tumors are
very disorganized systems. We all have many information systems in
our bodies that continually work to overcome disorganization by using
information.

Healing occurs by supporting the information systems in the body. For
example medication can do this by transferring molecular information
to cells. Nutrition also works this way. Other systems of healing work by
transferring information to our bodies.
